Three Placer County arts nonprofits will be are teaming up this year in with a new pilot arts program. The trio of organizations – North Tahoe Arts, Placer Arts, and Blue Line Arts will work together as the Arts Alliance to further the reach of the arts in Placer County, particularly in the unincorporated areas.
The Placer County Board of Supervisors approved a contract for $50,000 with Blue Line Arts as the lead guiding and fiscal agent organization for this county-wide effort to promote the arts. Artists and programs designed to showcase the arts provide an economic stimulus by enriching a community’s identity for residents and businesses, by attracting visitors, and by encouraging continued investment. Overall, the work will support the Placer County creative economy by engaging residents and visitors while demonstrating that the county is a vibrant and creative place.
This pilot collaboration will result in the following arts efforts to share the arts throughout Placer County:
- The creation of three events during a “Season of Creativity” in three Placer County communities; North, Central and South Placer
- Update the Placer County Visitors Bureau list of arts organizations across the county
- Produce three arts marketing workshops for artists and arts organizations to provide skills and information to support the economic development of the creative economy
- Develop a program assessment tool for Placer County to use in evaluating the role of the arts in economic development
