Sara Thornburgh
My name is Sara and I am mostly a self-taught artist, jewelry maker, and crocheter. I also make greeting cards. In my spare time, I work at and volunteer for my church. I am a volunteer at Voice of Hope for American Cancer Society’s Relay For Life of Placer County. I love to read, dance, write and sing.
Rachel Christofferson
My work ranges from the abstract and whimsical to colorful and refined.
Exploring all the basics on my own terms, I analyze color, shape, and texture throughout the body of my work. I enjoy the simplicity of bold lines and the detail of florals and graphic patterns.
But the real purpose of my work is the act of creating. Painting serves as a meditation, allowing me to step away from the world here and now, to let go of stress and the monotony of everyday life. For me, the act of creating is a personal, meaningful experience.
My hope is to provide a similar experience for an audience, allowing the simple shapes and color schemes to take the viewer’s mind off of the immediate presence, to allow them to add their meaning to the image I have placed in front of them.
Gini Crepps
“I have always had an emotional response to color and texture. I feel it, see it, and paint it. I find that it’s not the “what” of the painting, but the “how”…I think that is why multimedia, in all its varied forms, has become so much a part of my creative journey.” A native Californian, Gini has lived in the Northern Sacramento area since 1973, a graphic designer since 1975, and currently the owner of IQ Design, Inc. In 2013, she was very fortunate to open Gallery iQ…a dream come true…combining business and passion into one location in Rocklin, CA.
For Gini, it’s all about color.
Judy A Butler
Judy Butler graduated from The University of Utah with a BFA in graphic design. After working as a graphic designer for almost 10 years she decided to follow her heart and became a public school art teacher. The spontaneity and diverse skills was a great joy that lead to retiring in 2017. Retirement has been another joy for Judy as it has given her time to dedicate to further developing her skill with fused glass.
Judy’s glass clearly reflects her appreciation of whimsy and frequently features critters. Her art demonstrates her goal to combine quality of design with whimsy and joy.
