Tyler grew up in Lincoln, California. Began drawing at a young age. Studied art history, ceramics, drawing, and photography at Sierra College, UC Davis and then onto Alfred University where he earned a Master’s Degree in Ceramic Art in 2011. After graduating, Tyler moved from Alfred, New York to Carbondale, Colorado where he was a guest artist in residence at the Carbondale Clay Center for one year. In 2012, he moved to Oakland, California and began a job washing and detailing sailboats and yachts in the San Francisco Bay Area for two years until a knee surgery had him relocate back to Placer County, where he currently resides, in Roseville, Ca, creating art, drawing, painting and photographing mixed media works. Tyler keeps a blog of all his work in progress at: www.tylermcginnart.blogspot.com.
My name is Sara and I am mostly a self-taught artist, jewelry maker, and crocheter. I also make greeting cards. In my spare time, I work at and volunteer for my church. I am a volunteer at Voice of Hope for American Cancer Society’s Relay For Life of Placer County. I love to read, dance, write and sing.
My work ranges from the abstract and whimsical to colorful and refined.
Exploring all the basics on my own terms, I analyze color, shape, and texture throughout the body of my work. I enjoy the simplicity of bold lines and the detail of florals and graphic patterns.
But the real purpose of my work is the act of creating. Painting serves as a meditation, allowing me to step away from the world here and now, to let go of stress and the monotony of everyday life. For me, the act of creating is a personal, meaningful experience.
My hope is to provide a similar experience for an audience, allowing the simple shapes and color schemes to take the viewer’s mind off of the immediate presence, to allow them to add their meaning to the image I have placed in front of them.
