What I paint depends on my heart and mood. I paint in bold colors however the intensity varies from season to season. I do a lot of acrylics and water colors and absolutely love painting “Plein-air”, which is outside in my yard, near my picturesque flowers, birds, and vegetable garden. It’s extremely inspiring, stimulating and uplifting. Wherever I travel, I do photography, and paint. When I paint I wholeheartedly put my entire soul and being into my work. My art is me, and explains me. It may also speak to others. I hope it will. My family are in some of my paintings. My hope is for each and every person to realize they can make a positive difference. Most of us believe we can’t make an impact because we are just one person but any one of us can change the world for the better.

My work ranges from the abstract and whimsical to colorful and refined.
Exploring all the basics on my own terms, I analyze color, shape, and texture throughout the body of my work. I enjoy the simplicity of bold lines and the detail of florals and graphic patterns.
But the real purpose of my work is the act of creating. Painting serves as a meditation, allowing me to step away from the world here and now, to let go of stress and the monotony of everyday life. For me, the act of creating is a personal, meaningful experience.
My hope is to provide a similar experience for an audience, allowing the simple shapes and color schemes to take the viewer’s mind off of the immediate presence, to allow them to add their meaning to the image I have placed in front of them.
