I work in a variety of mediums, having won awards for landscapes in watercolor and oil. I exhibited in the Kensington Gallery in Campbell, CA before moving to Placer County. I also teach, offering private and semi-private art instruction. Just lately, I’ve been doing a lot of life drawing at the Sacramento Fine Arts center and fiber arts.
My work ranges from the abstract and whimsical to colorful and refined.
Exploring all the basics on my own terms, I analyze color, shape, and texture throughout the body of my work. I enjoy the simplicity of bold lines and the detail of florals and graphic patterns.
But the real purpose of my work is the act of creating. Painting serves as a meditation, allowing me to step away from the world here and now, to let go of stress and the monotony of everyday life. For me, the act of creating is a personal, meaningful experience.
My hope is to provide a similar experience for an audience, allowing the simple shapes and color schemes to take the viewer’s mind off of the immediate presence, to allow them to add their meaning to the image I have placed in front of them.

To her creativity in any form is simply a calling in the soul that must be expressed
to feel “whole” and authentic to herself. It is a way to channel her active imagination and energy in a positive way that brings her joy. She has a deep reverence for the beauty of nature and seeks to bring more beauty into the world. She believes that we are all born with our own unique creative gifts that need to be expressed to connect us to our Divine Essence. This is the reason she creates art. It is also what inspires her to hold creative space for others to explore their soul’s expression through “Conscious Creativity”.
“I have always had an emotional response to color and texture. I feel it, see it, and paint it. I find that it’s not the “what” of the painting, but the “how”…I think that is why multimedia, in all its varied forms, has become so much a part of my creative journey.” A native Californian, Gini has lived in the Northern Sacramento area since 1973, a graphic designer since 1975, and currently the owner of IQ Design, Inc. For Gini, it’s all about color.
