An Evening with The Brevet
April 25 @ 7:30 pm$24.00
In this special presentation, core members of the Orange County-based alternative rock band create an engaging and intimate experience for fans. While the band is known for their raw, high-energy concerts at major festivals, clubs, and every venue in between, this type of show maintains that quality and energy, and presents arrangements of both older and newer material in a stripped-down setting. Instead of his usual place behind a full drum kit, David Aguiar pares down his setup to a cajon and other percussive instruments. John Kingsley gets to flex his multi-instrumentalist muscles by bringing out a banjo, pedal steel guitar, electric guitar, and whatever else may give the song a unique angle. Aric Damm seizes the opportunity to compellingly delve deeper into what makes these songs so special and keeps the audience engaged with honesty and candor.
The show is different every time, and each audience member gets to live their own communal experience right along with the band. It’s still just as much energy as the full Brevet experience, with a slightly different, but just as engaging, spin.
Fans and critics alike describe The Brevet’s music as “epic Americana.” Combining elements of alternative, rock, folk, and country, they have been compared to Kings of Leon, Mumford & Sons and the Lumineers. Their style and delivery, especially in a live setting, speak strongly to their fans. Even people who walk into a show with little or no knowledge of The Brevet find themselves converted.
Since the release of their 2013 independent debut Battle of the Heart, the Brevet has landed high-profile placements at Coachella and BottleRock, and on film and television, including The Good Lie, Ashby, 90210, American Idol, and more.
