Back for a second year and “migrating” to the Earth Day event in Auburn, all Placer County artists in ANY medium, are invited to enter our Earth Day sculpture contest, “Migrating through the Pages”.
CALL TO ARTISTS FOR THE SCULPTURE CONTEST AT EARTH DAY IN AUBURN ON APRIL 20, 2018
You also have a chance to have a booth at the event where you can sell whatever you wish with no additional fees ($40 entry fee). You also have a chance to just enter the sculpture contest and not have a booth ($20 entry fee).
Paperwork for your sculpture and sales details for your sculptures will be turned in at a later date. You will be selling directly to the consumer and provide all your information if you wish to sell your sculpture. Expected attendance at the event is 3,000.
Registration in both categories is on a first-come, first served basis.
Once again we will be partnering with Libraries and Friends of the Libraries groups of Placer County for this event. They will be providing used books of all types, and artists must use the book as an integral part of their sculpture, either utilizing the actual book, or the subject of the book.
- Sculptures should be made of recycled, or earth-friendly materials, and creativity is encouraged.
- Entries must be self standing, with base being no more than 3′ x 3′, with a height restriction of 3′.
- Library officials will be the judges and six sculptures will be chosen to be displayed in local libraries for 6 months.
There are two different categories you may register for, which you can decide later, with the following prize money being offered (these six winners will also be chosen to be displayed in the libraries) :
Monarch Division (Monarch Butterflies must be part of your display)
1st Place – $100; 2nd Place – $75; 3rd Place – $50
Open Division (No restriction on subject manner)
1st Place – $75; 2nd Place – $50; 3rd Place – $25
The deadline to enter is Friday, March 15, 2019.
You will be sent an entry form on April 1, 2019, where you will be required to give us a description of your sculpture, sales information, and choose which category you wish to enter.
