I am a Kintsugi Artist. My work consists of mending broken vessels with seams of gold. The genesis of my work is a 15th century Japanese legend that holds “We are more beautiful for having been broken.” I dream of sharing my love of the healing Kintsugi art concept with as many broken souls as I can. Each piece I mend begins with my thoughts of how the ultimate result will look and feel. I pour my thoughts and energy into mending the vessels in my charge. Once mended, I turn my attention to applying the Urishi as well as the pure gold. Each seam gleams as the breaks become whole. The completed pieces are then given to the care of their owners both old and new.
