About:

Manny Rodriguez, now retired , spent over 40 years as a high school administrator and educator. He has been taking photographs for more than five decades where he started out as a wedding photographer working primarily in the Bay Area. As a wedding photographer, Manny really enjoyed working with people and found weddings a great foundation for photo journalism and portrait work. As an educational historian, his work as a wedding photographer allowed him to experience the various cultures and how they celebrated one’s wedding day. From photographing the events to taking thousands of pictures of high school activities, these valuable experiences led him in the direction of teaching photography and social sciences at the high school level. His training as a photographer included some classes at the Brooks Institute in Santa Barbara and teaching more than ten years of “wet-lab” photography. “Mr. Rod,” as the students referred to him, would tell his students, “look where others can’t see.” Since the world of photography has pretty much gone digital, he now spends much of his time with landscape and travel photography. Manny can be found in his digital lab where he spends countless hours manipulating his photographs painting with light creating fine art photography.
