About:
Heather Wilde is a self-taught artist, creating on an antique desk in a tiny corner of her little old house in California. Her one-of-a-kind dolls are shown under the name Brume Poppets: dolls of the mist or fog. Always drawn to the odd, dark and mysterious side of nature, she considers he dolls “automatic,” as they never begin with anyone in mind–their looks and personalities just come forward as she works as if channeling from beyond the veil.
Brume Poppets dolls are made with wire and foil armature, stone clay, pastels and watercolors. Their hair is made from natural fibers–usually bamboo, silk or wool. They are clothed in hand-eco dyed silks, cotton and linen, and often antique doilies and scarfs. They are sometimes ornamented with sticks, bones, bells, beads and other found objects.
