Medium: Felt Art, Fiber Art, Silk, Textile, and Wearable Art
Debra Hosler has been working with fiber and textiles since childhood. Her background in sewing led to her pursuit of quilting for many years while she studied surface design and mixed media techniques. She then moved from quilting flat surfaces to the design and construction of three-dimensional vessels. After learning felting techniques in 2006 Debra realized that she could use dyed wool fibers and yarns to “paint” images that could be framed for the wall. She also uses her felting and fabric dyeing skills to create wearable art such as scarves, hats, and handbags. She maintains a studio at High Hand Art Gallery in Loomis, CA.
