Drawing and painting have been central to my life since my early years. I am largely self-taught, with study at the museums of my birth city of San Francisco and the major museums of America and Europe to guide the development of my technique. I work in both the representational and abstract traditions. Often a painting develops from brush strokes or gestures refined and elaborated to achieve an organic richness in the final image that draws upon nature for its flow if not its recognizable form. My work ranges from 8″x 5″ to 7’x 4′ in size.
