A visual artists' network for local and emerging artists
The Placer Artists League (PAL), in partnership with PlacerArts, is a group of active visual artists who meet regularly for camaraderie, artist presentations and demonstrations on a variety of media and art related topics from award winning professionals. The league's charter is to support and educate local artists, encourage emerging artists and provide opportunities for exhibition and sale of members' work.
The PAL general meetings are held the first Tuesday of every month (except July). We alternate meeting times between 10am and 7pm every other month to accommodate a diversity of artists, with varying schedules.
Refer to PAL newsletter or Calendar for meeting locations & times.
PAL is a program of PlacerArts. To become a PAL member you must become a PlacerArts member. If you wish to participate in PAL you must pay the supplementary Placer Artists League participation fee of $20 in addition to your PlacerArts membership fee. Click here to join or renew your membership.
PAL Membership Shows
PAL members are encouraged to enter their artwork in the various PAL Membership Shows held throughout the year. There is a $3 hanging fee per piece of artwork. Click to download the exhibit form.
Annual PAL Open Juried Show
The Placer Artists League holds an annual juried show open to all artists. PAL engages a notable juror, awarding ribbons and cash prizes to top entries in each category. In 2015 Waif Mullins, renowned pastel artist and teacher was our juror, and the show was held at the General Gomez LIFE Gallery. More information about the 2016 show and competition will be posted here when available.
Congratulations to our 2015 Juried Show Winners. View the list of awards (and images for 1st place winners) here.
