About the Placer Arts Directory

Placer Arts Directory

The Placer Arts Directory provides listings of visual, performing and literary artists, arts venues and arts & culture organizations, segmented by medium or type of performance art.

The Arts Directory is designed to connect patrons, businesses and event coordinators directly with artists for potential bookings, commissions, exhibitions and sales, performances and special events. Artist Profiles now link to their calendar listings on the Zoomaru online arts calendar. The Arts Directory is free to artists and to the public. Artists living and working in the Sierra Nevada may post their professional profile, detailing their products and services, free of charge. The profile may include representative images, sound and video clips.

PlacerArts members have an additional benefit: a free live link to your own website.

Public Art Registry Hosted by PlacerArts

The Public Arts Registry will be migrated to the new Zoomaru Arts Directory very soon. Until then, we are not accepting new profiles or updates to the Public Art Registry.

This registry is for artists who are qualified and interested in the creation of public art. The registry is an information source for public and private sector developers, arts commissions, and private companies, who seek qualified artists and artwork to include in their projects.

Once artists have submitted their online profile, it is peer reviewed by PlacerArts. Qualified profiles are then activated for inclusion in the Public Art Registry.

The Public Art Registry was launched in 2007 in cooperation with the city of Roseville and supported in part by the Placer Community Foundation. In 2010, the use of the registry expanded to the Sierra Nevada and Sacramento Metropolitan regions. Qualified artists who live and work in the Sierra Nevada and Sacramento Metropolitan regions, are encouraged to submit their profiles for inclusion in the Public Art Registry.

The profiles of all artists who complete the Public Art Registry section are automatically entered in the Regional Artist Registry, so it is not necessary to submit separate applications. Please contact PlacerArts if you are interested in submitting an application for the Public Art Registry.

Artists in Schools

New to the Artist Registry is a Teaching Artists directory hosted by the Sacramento Metropolitan Arts Commission. Use this directory to search for teaching artists who are qualified to present arts education programs in schools (Pre-Kindergarten through Grade Twelve) communities and neighborhoods of the greater Sacramento Metropolitan region.
