PlacerArts and its partner Placer Arts 360 organizations present quality visual arts exhibits, tours, events and professional performing arts and community theatrical performances that add significantly to the quality of life of residents of Placer County and neaby regions. More about Placer Arts 360.
The Arts Building in downtown Auburn is home to PlacerArts, seven artists-in-residence and a number of public programs. The Arts Building Gallery offers world-class exhibits throughout the year. PlacerArts partners with businesses in Old Town and Downtown to present the popular Auburn Art Walk four times a year, which has increased local awareness and business support of PlacerArts programs. ARTspace in The Arts Building hosts classes for adults, teen and children.
The Autumn Art Studios Tour takes place each fall, and features artists throughout Western Placer County. Summer Series at the Auburn Library Garden Theater bring crowds to enjoy family-friendly concerts under the stars. More about PlacerArts’ Programs and Services.
But PlacerArts is much more than a producer of events. PlacerArts plays an often invisible, but vital backstage role as well. We connect with schools, teachers and county education officials to keep arts in the schools; provide technical expertise and inspiration to artists and sister arts organizations; write grant proposals; and meet with community organizations such as Chambers of Commerce and Economic Development offices to develop strategies to keep the county vibrant.
Art in Public Places Programs
PlacerArts was instrumental in convincing the City of Auburn to pass a Public Art Ordinance and in establishing the Auburn Arts Commission to manage future Public Art projects in the county seat. New public installations have been dedicated in Granite Bay, Roseville, Newcastle and Lincoln with PlacerArts’ assistance.
